Mini Biography

Born and raised in Reno, I've spent two decades designing, building, and leading software teams. My career has ranged from freelance web development and founding startups to managing engineering organizations and delivering secure, mission-critical applications for the federal government. I'm a CISSP-certified engineering leader who cares as much about the people on my teams as the systems we ship together.

Current Work

At Booz Allen Hamilton, I lead a distributed team of software engineers supporting a mission-critical DoD web application used by thousands of end users. I drive architectural modernization—including the transition from a legacy monolith to TypeScript microservices—while ensuring STIG compliance, secure coding practices, and continuous authorization to operate. I also champion engineering standards, onboarding, and AI-assisted development tools that improve team velocity and code quality.

Background

Before Booz Allen, I was Engineering Manager at Newfront, growing a servicing engineering team from two to nine people and delivering nearly one hundred projects. I co-founded and served as CTO of Talage, building the first online workers' compensation and general liability insurance marketplace and scaling it into a SaaS platform with 99.99% uptime. Talage went on to be acquired by Mission Underwriters in 2025—a successful exit for the company I helped build. I also ran Zadra Design for more than ten years, completing over fifty full-stack client projects spanning APIs, cloud deployments, and custom web applications.
